Badgley Mischka Fall 2012 NYFW |
Let me take you Behind the Seams(TM) of two brilliant designers' shows that I attended this week, Badgley Mischka & Viktor Luna. There are so many different reasons why I love NYFW and so much I want to share, but am going to break up my posts as I believe less is more.
Designer: Badgley Mischka (Mark & James) Runway Show

I took this one from my seat. The runway was a mirror so this is the reflection of the front row. love this shot! |

The printed maxi length skirt was a stand out here, paired with the scenic background drop |

Maxi length wow dress with fur detailing & my favorite leather cutoff mustard gloves (yes you know I rock gloves all the time so this was a great touch) |

Obsessed with these printed bottoms |

Cold Shoulder theme standouts |
More Rad hot printed pants |
my favorite color PURPLE leather gloves mixed with printed skirt |
Touches of pop color with fur vests |
Me and the adorable Viktor Luna |
Overall DESIGN DETAIL & THEME STANDOUTS I took from both shows
- Printed Hot Pants still strong and HOT
- Fur layering Vests/Sleevels/Neck ...but I would opt for Faux Fur or Vintage Fur
- Cold Shoulder Tops/Dresses
- Maxi length dresses
- Power Suiting
- Touches of color like Purple/Mustard
- Gold
- Strong Shoulders
- Twist on the traditional Bomber jacket

Essentials for Surviving NY Fashion Week February 2012!
February 13, 2012
This week my crazy schedule is filled with my own collaborative NYFW show with Junk Food and Hasbro on Wednesday. I am so excited to tell you more about this show. But, I will keep it a surprise and update later this week to share with you all the elements of the show :)
On top of my own show, I am attending some amazing designers shows (which I will also report on via my many social media outlets as well as here on the highlights this week), and of course some fun parties. It can be very exhausting but totally rewarding :)
So I prepared a few of my essentials for surviving NY Fashion Week (what I will be wearing and how I stay sane (well try too):

1. Drink A LOT of water. Staying hydrated is key when you're moving non stop!
2. Pack almonds or sunflower seeds in your purse for quick snacks on the go.
3. Layer it up! It's cold in NYC this time of year so I made sure each outfit had many layers to keep me warm and toasty!
4. Comfortable shoes, undies & socks! Need I say more?
5. Carry around a small notebook and pen where ever you go. You never know when a creative idea will spark!
6. And never forget your Iphone. Perfect for all the photos that inspire you.

Friday Finds: Q&A with Amy Sacco!
February 10, 2012
Amy is the the Queen of nightlife and one of the hardest working entrepreneurs I know.
When I first moved to NYC I was brought to one of Amy's former clubs called Lot 61. I remember walking into her club with a few of my best friends and when I walked in I was greeted by this fierce women...that night I met Amy. My best nights in NYC took place at Amy's spots..Lot 61 & Bungalow 8. I wish I could describe the nights we all had back in the day. I feel like sound archaic ...but truly those were the days. Thank god for Bungalow 8 in London ....but that means we all have to move to London. xo, Stacy
