Boy Meets YSC Girl :)
October 11, 2010

This bag is dedicated to my dear friend Kristen Martinez, a member of the Urban Outfitters family for 15 years. Kristen & I collaborated on a Boy Meets Girl(R) tote bag with Urban Outfitters in 2008 which raised over $13,000 for the Young Survival Coalition. The YSC is the premiere non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and education to young women with breast cancer. We lost Kristen to breast cancer at age 36 after a five year battle. Kristen inspired change. Get inspired-Kristenmartinez.org & Get educated- youngsurvival.org

You can purchase the Kristen Awareness Tote Bag on UrbanOutfitters.com this week. I will keep you posted when it goes LIVE! The tote bag has gone live here Urbanoutfitters.com make sure to get one before they are all gone :) xo
$1.50 from the sale of each tote bag will be donated to the YSC by Boy Meets Girl® and
100% of the proceeds from the sale of this bag will be donated to the YSC, the premier non-profit dedicated to providing support and education to young women with breast cancer via Urbanoutfitters.com
Take a look at my past blog entry about Kristen- she was a true fighter and inspired us all.
I miss you everyday Kristen. Thank you for being an incredible friend.
xo,
Stacy

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Stacy:( This is an awesome dedication to her and I think ur project is wonderful! Unfortunately, this disease seems to have touched most people somehow. A very close family friend was just diagnosed with breast cancer and all we can do is pray for her. I will keep a lookout for this tote!

P.S. Thank you for dropping by my blog:) I'm a fan of Boy Meets Girl since I was introduced to ur brand on Gilt! I'm kicking myself for not grabbing the sweater I had my eye on lol
Julia. Thank you :) Glad to hear you are in NYC. Love your blog. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteRomance Is Boring :) Thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate it. I am so happy you are a fan of my brand. This collaboration with Urban Outfitters for Kristen means a lot to me as you can see. Please help spread the word. The young survival coalition is an incredible organization for young women fighting this disease. xo Stacy
ReplyDelete:)The Owl's Closet. Thank you so much for your note. Kristen was incredible friend and taught me the value of being a warrior. She fought everyday but at the same time lived life and had a smile on her face everyday. The first day I met her was the first day I volunteered for the Young Survival Coalition. I became a co-chair that year and the following year with Kristen. She inspired me everyday and still does. You can learn more about her here www.kristenmartinez.org. I am sorry to hear about your friend who was recently diagnosed. Please please tell her to look up this organization. If you need further info let me know.

I know this sounds quite strange? But is it possible that you could send me some images of your collection for aw10/ss11? I'd love to feature you on my blog and do an interview/drawings of your work if that's possible :) I'd love to spread the word about BoyMeetsGirl...

Hi, Stacy! Thank you for your comment on my blog:) Your friend Kristen sounds like she was an amazing person! Thank you for the link to the organization:)
ReplyDeleteHi Romance is Boring ;) That does not sound strange at all. That is a normal request and thank you for wanting to cover my collection and do a feature. I will send you a direct email with this information. xx
ReplyDeleteThe Owl's closet thank you! The organization is amazing and if your friend is looking for support the YSC is the right place. There are young women from all over the world being diagnosed and the organization allows women to share their feelings and be there for each other. If you need anything else you know where to reach me ;)
