Midnight Inspirations: The Recipe For Radiance by Alexis Wolfer

April 24, 2014
Discover Beauty’s Best Kept Secrets In Your Kitchen!
The Recipe for Radiance is a book that should be a mandatory read for all women! Good Friend, Alexis Wolfer (featured in past BTS posts here and here) makes it simple to take care of yourself, all while not having to leave your kitchen! Alexis's book is a perfect read for those of us who might not spend a lot of time in the kitchen as she makes it easy and not scary! What I love is Alexis also follows one of my golden rules within our #BMGLIVEOUTLOUD campaign which is we are all beautiful on the inside and how important that truly means! This is a perfect gift for those of us who love a great DIY project. Perfect for Mother's Day for that Mom who is looking to refresh herself both inside and out. Below is an example of a Rejuvenating Eye Polish that Alexis let me share with you. The Recipe for Radiance is now available so you can get started whipping up her 131 beauty-boosting recipes! Link here to purchase.

Rejuvenating Eye Polish

1 tablespoon avocado
1 tablespoon grape seed oil
3 tablespoons whole milk

1)   Using a fork or a blender, combine the avocado with the grape see oil until creamy. Slowly add the milk until well combined.
2)  Saturate 2 cotton pads with the mixture and apply under your eyes for 15 minutes
3) Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Steering clear of aggressive, granular exfoliants in favor of the naturally occurring lactic acid found in milk, this compress gently breaks down dead skin cells to reveal a more youthful complexion. Simultaneously, it hydrates with the fat in both the milk and avocado, and protects through the antioxidant-rich grape see oil.

My Tips: The "new" french manicure

April 18, 2014
I wore a traditional french manicure on my hands and toes when I got married but since then I don't think I have gotten them done. I loved them for my wedding as they were special and different for me. As you know I like to have fun with my nails so I don't usually go basic or traditional. I was feeling excited when the sun finally came out in NYC so decided to change up the traditional way.

Here are my tips to get what I call the "new" french manicure :) Enjoy!

1. Pick a fun color in this case I chose a minty color you can find similar here
2. Play with the tip color. I went gold but you can do any color. I think it depends on your mood. I love gold so feel it matches with everything. A fun combo would be mint with darker mint for an ombre look too!
3. Make sure to use this find tip paint brush to easily apply the fine lines.

Let me know how you like this new french mani!

Midnight Inspirations: Reykjavík, Iceland

April 4, 2014
I recently travelled to Reykjavík, Iceland for a jam packed mini-vacation (3.5 days, to be precise).  In that short amount of timeI still got to take in the city and the countryside – both of which were absolutely incredible. The flight was shorter than my flight to LA Just like my trip I made some short and sweet layouts for you to get a taste of why you should check out this incredible city and country. Enjoy!

Who wants to go to Iceland now? I heard the Summer is just as beautiful minus the snow :)

Midnight Inspirations: Meet our April Muse of the Month!

April 1, 2014
Introducing our April ‘14 Muse of the Month, Lindsey!

Any Wisco fan is a friend of mine :) Check out why Lindsey made our list for this April's muse of the month!

1. Name: Lindsey Pennuto @shopfstop on Twitter and shopfstop on ebay

2. Favorite charity to support and why?
My favorite charity to support is the Humane Society. I have had a soft spot in my heart for rescue animals ever since my family adopted a dog from our local humane society.  He was the best dog anyone could ask for! After adopting him, I began collecting supplies to donate to the humane society as well as volunteering my time walking dogs.

3. Favorite Boy Meets Girl® item and why?
I love my UW-Madison tank top! I'm usually found layering this under one of my Coco hoodies. It represents my home state and one of my favorite clothing lines, so now I don't have to compromise fashion on game day!

Who is your muse or the person who inspires you most? Could be anyone! If you would like to be considered for Boy Meets Girl®'s Muse of the Month see the rules here!
