So much to do, so little time!

May 31, 2011
My to do list for the weekends is a never ending agenda that I keep adding to and one of these days will accomplish! But in the meantime I have another thing I want to add to it :) The MoMA is home to inspirational pieces, artists and film. Two events that I would love to check out are:

Film Screening of Casablanca, June 1-3 at 1:30pm. I'm sure we can all agree that this is just a classic! Combine the romance, outfits and black and white and I'm sold! And one of my college design projects I did was based on this Movie :) Check out some of my inspirational sketches below too!

Romance at it's finest

It might be hard to read, but what is written on this skirt design is inspired from the movie :)

The other exhibition I really want to check out is Talk To Me: Design and Communication between People and Objects, July 24-November 7, 2011. You all know that I have become a tech-nerd and I am constantly researching anything and everything about social media and new technologies! I just can't get enough. Here is a sneak peek into the exhibit:

"Talk to Me explores the communication between people and things. All objects contain information that goes well beyond their immediate use or appearance. In some cases, objects like cell phones and computers exist to provide us with access to complex systems and networks, behaving as gateways and interpreters. Whether openly and actively, or in subtle, subliminal ways, things talk to us, and designers help us develop and improvise the dialogue." Sparked your interest too? Find out more information here:)

Full Calendar of events here

Let me know if you went to the MoMA recently and what you saw!

Here at Boy Meets Girl® I am constantly inspired by travelers, go-getter's, young entrepreneurs, and women who take initiative and live their life how they see fit. The Boy Meets Girl® is not afraid to stand apart from the crowd, whether that be through personal style, work, or hobbies. She is not afraid to embrace the winding road and the adventures that go along with it.
For the first time in my career I reached out to you 5 bloggers(all my relationships with bloggers have been thru friendships/relationships or b/c a blogger reached out to me) who myself and my team believed encompassed what Boy Meets Girl® is all about- a mix of tough girl chic, who has a bit of edge and feminine quirks. We chose five bloggers to represent their Coast :)
I love how each of them styled the Boy Meets Girl® Drip Tee and Boy Meets Girl® Knee High Socks! Such great individual style! Check them out below..(p.s. our 5th blogger is on her honeymoon so you will have to wait to see her style)

We knew that their readers would love to win a gift so we thought it would be great to have each blogger post a contest and get a chance to win Boy Meets Girl® products too with the launch of my new site on May 23rd! So check out each of their blogs and get a chance to win $50 credit to shop on!

The Age of Innocence

May 25, 2011
I stumbled upon this amazing photographer recently on Paul Jasmine. His new book California Dreaming is full of quirky imagination and images that tell a different story with each look. The setting is Los Angeles where he lives- I have been to Los Angeles a couple of times and seeing his work, makes me crave a change of scenery. Welcome Summer ;)

"The pictures offer a mythic narrative of youth and longing: lost lovers and nubile beauties in the desert or idyllic gardens."

Love the black and white
Full of yearning and sentimental

May 24, 2011
found this picture when I googled the word Believe and crazy it is the same picture my DJ's put my Birthday Mood Board. So it is a sign :)

This is my second post today. I am working 24/7 right now (ok that is not new lol!). Pushing myself to make everything as best as I can. Taking on many tasks and trying to do it all right. I am so proud of my new e-commerce site  .  There is still a lot more to be done but it is almost all there. As you know I have been writing in my journal aka blog to let you know about the highs/lows. This year has be surreal and sometimes I do not take a moment to just breathe and enjoy the ride. My mom texted me today and said I BELIEVE in you and that is all I needed. BELIEVE. When you are feeling overwhelmed and you forgot to take a moment remember to BELIEVE. If you are an entrepreneur, an artist, a photographer, a designer, etc remember that you can do it. Each step remember it is a step on the ladder to success. No one said it would be easy. But, if you have a passion you will succeed. So I leave you tonight with a BIG THANK YOU for BELIEVING in ME and my Brand Boy Meets Girl(R). xo, Stacy

Friday Taurus Finds..ME

May 20, 2011
So today is my birthday(OMG)! Ahh I can't believe another year has flown by! SO much has happened and I am so grateful to be where I am today. For all you Taurus' out there, check out what our horoscope has to say about us ;)
Traditional Taurus traits:
Patient and reliable
Warmhearted and loving
Persistent and determined(oh yes that is ME!)
Placid and security loving

I always like to review my journal/blog from the year before so check out my post from a year ago on my birthday here and here. It is crazy what happens in a year. I lost my very good friend to breast cancer(and last night took part in the ILP event to keep her legacy going). I sold a portion of my business to an incredible company and  I continue to keep working 24/7doing what I love!

And last but not least I was sent an incredible present from the owners of SillyBandz. They just launched their new product line called RadRingz and yes that is me below so excited to show you them! These are brilliant! My mom used to manufacturer charm necklaces (she is/was an entrepreneur on top of being a physician assistant and developing her own product called the Back Machine..oh and she was a marathon runner and triathlete!..hmmm I wonder why I am so crazy lol! jk!). I am rocking my RadRingz and charm necklaces below ;) Thank you RadRingz for taking me back in time. You made this birthday girl a happy girl! xo Stacy

Thank you Mommy for making the most amazing charm necklaces back in the day. Love you!

Also Happy Birthday to the amazing DJ Taurus, Pete Kranik and Ramon Brea : ) cannot believe I met you all in this past year and we all have the same Birthday.  Have the best day! xo, Stacy

My (tiny) Special Guests

May 19, 2011
I have been meaning to post these images of when Pilar and Michelle(Fuse TV Wardrobe Stylists) came to my cardboard office to visit a couple of months ago. To my surprise, Pilar brought her adorable twins, Fin and Pia! They were such a treat to have in the office and a nice change in pace :) I brought out some markers and large sheets of paper to entertain them- but they seemed to like the cardboard hats & wish-wall instead!
I really hope they come back to visit soon!

Stuck together ;)

Playing with the wishwall. I wonder what their wish was?

We tried to take this picture a million times but the twins wouldn't look haha! They wanted more cardboard lol!

4 Letter Word

May 18, 2011
I came across this love letter written by poet Kenneth Fearing and had to post it. My Papa was a doctor and also a writer. When he was sent to be a doctor in WWII he had to leave my Nana for 3 years. While he was away helping the wounded at war he wrote my Nana every single day a love letter. My mother put together all the books and one day I must make it into a book. I wish I had a picture of his letters to post for this post but I will have to keep you excited for future posts when I get my hands on the letters :)
The words of Kenneth Fearing's jumped off the page the first time I read it, and couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. Did he get to see her again?

Come back.
Because tonight you are in my hair and eyes,
And every street light that our taxi passes shows me you again, still you,
And because tonight all other nights are black, all other hours are cold and far away, and now, this minute, the stars are very near and bright
Come back. We will have a celebration to end all celebrations.

-Kenneth Fearing

Has someone ever written you a love letter? Feel free to share :) Would love to hear your Boy Meets Girl® story!

Helplessness Blues

May 17, 2011
DJ London and I constantly share new music we've recently discovered or have been fans of for years- and it doesn't hurt that we have the same taste! So when she came into my office the other day gushing about Fleet Foxes sophomore album Helplessness Blues, I wanted to know more! Check out her review below :)

After 3 years since their self titled album, this Seattle based band has exceeded my expectations once again- Fleet Foxes' new album, Helplessness Blues is a tender mix of lyrical prose and harmony. Maybe I'm biased because I fall for any band who incorporates a violin or banjo into their sound, but Fleet Foxes have this way of bringing me back to childhood memories and anything nostalgic. While Helplessness Blues doesn't stray too far from their original sound, this album drives home a deeper message and story. I love how they incorporate other instruments like the electric guitar, heavy drums, and saxophone.

With song titles like Sim Sala Bim, Battery Kinzie, and Montezuma-how could you not want to listen? ;)

Fleet Foxes are are playing at the Palace Theatre and United Palace in NYC this week, so hurry up and check them out! Or you can listen to their album here.

Music Mondays- Someone Like You (Adele)

May 16, 2011
Here at Boy Meets Girl® we are huge fans of this powerhouse from London- of course we are talking about the amazing Adele! Her new album, 21 has us singing along in the office! Check out the polyvore set I created in dedication to this incredible singer :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Friday's Travel Accessory Finds

May 13, 2011
I am traveling a lot this summer for short weekend getaways to weddings, events, BBQ's in the Hamptons and summer parties. I spotted Deb and Michelle's travel bags which are perfect for any trip! Check out their stylish travel accessories below:

I fell in love with one of my BFF's Deb's travel duffel bag- you can find it here by Bric's! Deb an amazing acupuncturist at Droge Clinic (I highly recommend her!) Her bag is super stylish and accessible for those on the go. The simple design and color palette will go great with any jet-setter attire :)

My assistant Michelle found this great vintage bag at the Brooklyn Flea Market in Williamsburg one weekend- and get this, it was only $20! I am a huge vintage junkie and excited to check out this flea market soon, but in the meantime maybe she will let me borrow it ;) I love the shape of the bag, very different.

Happy Travel Weekend. Would love to see your favorite Travel bags on the go :)

Inside the creative minds of my DJ team

May 12, 2011
In conjunction with yesterday's post of Jonh Lennon's inspirational quote, I thought it would be fun to ask my Boy Meets Girl(R) team what inspires them by having them share one image- it could be anything, art, fashion, food, architecture. I love seeing what sparks their creativity!

Kathryn(Dj NielleKat)- "This inspires me because of the eccentricity of the space. It looks lived in, unpretentious and somewhat whimsical, like there are stories behind every item in this room. And I love the man’s outfit... slacks, beater, and suspenders. =)" (photographer, Jeff Wall)

Taylor(DJ Sly)- "This photo of me and my mother inspires me because she followed her two big dreams of becoming an educator and having her own family, and she successfully did it all on her own.  This picture inspires me to work hard every day so I can make all of my big dreams become reality."

Thank you DJ's for your amazing pictures and your hard work in building the EMPIRE :)

Dream a little dream for me

I dreamed big things for Boy Meets Girl® and a lot of that has come true, but with so much more ahead. Sometimes I have to stop and pinch myself to realize it's not longer a dream but my life.
