Helplessness Blues

Xo,

After 3 years since their self titled album, this Seattle based band has exceeded my expectations once again- Fleet Foxes' new album, Helplessness Blues is a tender mix of lyrical prose and harmony. Maybe I'm biased because I fall for any band who incorporates a violin or banjo into their sound, but Fleet Foxes have this way of bringing me back to childhood memories and anything nostalgic. While Helplessness Blues doesn't stray too far from their original sound, this album drives home a deeper message and story. I love how they incorporate other instruments like the electric guitar, heavy drums, and saxophone.
With song titles like Sim Sala Bim, Battery Kinzie, and Montezuma-how could you not want to listen? ;)
Xo,
Michelle
