Mothers Know Best

August 10, 2011
The other day I was thinking about my mom and a piece of advice that she always tells me popped into my head. "Don't stress on the little things. Life is too short. Enjoy every moment."
This advice couldn't have come at a better time..

I asked some of my DJ team the best piece of advice their mothers have given them, check out their answers below and maybe these tidbits will help you along the way ;)

Dj MM: Smile and the world smiles with you. Cry and you cry alone.  What this means to me is that you should always try to put on a smile and be happy because no one will want to be around you if you’re sad all the time. People want to be surrounded by other upbeat, happy people.

Dj London: Everything happens for a reason. This saying always pops into my head when something doesn't go exactly as planned. It brings me back down to earth when the outcome isn't always a good one because in the end, I know there is a good reason why something did or didn't happen.

Dj Sly: If you love something, buy two of it. I always end up buying clothes or shoes and thinking that I only kind-of like them.  More times than not, I end up really, really, liking them and I wear them until I end up wearing them until they ware-out.  Then I sit on my floor with my mom’s red sewing box trying to stitch my poor, worn-out and faded, favorite shirt back together with tears streaming down my face and thoughts of how I’m going to get through the next 60 years of my life without my favorite shirt.  My mom strolls by and says “Should have bought two.”  Now, I have learned my lesson: If I buy a shirt and want to wear It every day for the next two weeks after I buy it (or if I actually DO wear it every day for the next two weeks haha), I go back to the store and buy another one.  It sounds silly, but it’s worth the investment.  And it saves me some tears.

Thanks Dj's! Feel free to comment on the best advice YOUR mom has ever given you :)
