STACY IGEL

I started blogging on 12/12/08, as my personal journal to share with you all my crazy life Behind the Seams™ of building my brand Boy Meets Girl®. Over the past 4 years it has evolved into more than just my journal entries. It now incorporates all facets of my life! From what I wore at events, QandA’s with my friends, Entrepreneurship 101, My Tips, my Midnight Inspirations (aka, Kate Moss & Johnny Depp), My “how to rock” Features on Olivia Palermo, etc .
Think. Say. Do.

Join me on my visit with the BP Fashion Board @Nordstrom!

As you all know, I’m passionate about educating young students interested in all aspects of the fashion industry. This has been a driving force behind Boy Meets Girl® University which I started in 2011.

It’s been an exciting few months with the Boy Meets Girl® S/S 2015 Collection launching on Nordstrom.com and in Nordstrom stores. Just when I didn’t think I could be any more excited, I was asked to speak to the April BP Fashion Board meeting at the Nordstrom at Roosevelt Field Mall. This opportunity gave me the chance to speak with high school students who had a passion for fashion AND share my excitement about the new pieces being sold at Nordstrom.

The meeting started with the incredible board members presenting their designs and marketing plans for a new clothing line they were working on as part of their program. Of course I LOVED their presentations and getting to ask them questions about their inspirations (role reversal). Then I spoke about my educational background, creating Boy Meets Girl® and what goes into marketing, pricing (which I explained is very important), and advertising a fashion line. Then they asked me about working with musicians, what goes into planning a New York Fashion Week show and our recent partnership with Nordstrom and balancing my life with an amazing baby boy :)

It was a true pleasure meeting these budding entrepreneurs. Thank you Nordstrom for having me part of your educational initiatives. I look forward to continuing to work with you and meeting more BP fashion board girls across the country.
